Word of Life Lutheran Church an LCMC church split from an ELCA congregation when the ELCA Convention voted that the bible was really open to interpretation and that not everything written there could be taken as the true and final Word of God.
Our first gathering was on February 14th 2010. The meeting took place in the basement of First Lutheran Church in Fairfield Iowa. It was decided to rent a room at the Fairfield Public Library to continue talks of forming our own church.
February 24th the name Word of Life Lutheran Church was official accepted as the the name
of our new church.
February 26th Word of Life Lutheran Church signed the Articles of Incorporation which were filed with the State of Iowa on March 2nd, 2010.
March 3rd Word of Life votes to join LCMC, Lutheran Congregation in Missions for Christ.
March 11th was the first official church council meeting for Word of Life Lutheran Church.
March 25th Signed Rental Agreement with Option to Purchase the former Assembly of God Church.
IN 40 DAYS THE ABOVE WAS ACCOMPLISHED IN THE WORD OF LIFE LUTHERAN CHURCH AND WE GIVE ALL PRAISE AND GLORY TO GOD!
August 20th, 2010 Word of Life takes possession of the old Assembly of God Building and has hired a pastor. Average Sunday attendance is 125.
